Mary was born in Weston, WV on June 4, 1929, the youngest child of Clyde and Mildred Smallridge Lough. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Paul and Brooks and a sister, Leota.
On March 21, 1947 Mary married John J. Beavers and they were the parents of six children: Joan Hollandsworth of Pinellas Park, FL, Harold Beavers of Huttonsville, WV, Carol Turnbull of Oxford, MI, Barbara Menna of Seminole, FL, John Junior of Pinellas Park, FL, and Martha Pollock who passed on January 26, 2016. Her husband John preceded her in death after 67 years of marriage in 2004.
Mary had spent the last few months trying to figure out the number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren she had, but she never come to a final number. “Just a lot,” was her final number.
Mary enjoyed traveling to West Virginia when she was able to drive and then when she and her daughters Joan and Martha would make trips north. As she got older and it became more of a challenge, she would always say I would like to take one more trip home-West Virginia. Well she is finally making her trip home now to West Virginia.
