Dorothy B. Burkhammer, 99, of Bridgeport, WV, died Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Serenity Hope in Lost Creek. She was born at Roscoe, PA on August 26, 1920, a daughter of the late Charles B. Stalnaker and Sue Smith Stalnaker Boram. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank B. Burkhammer on October 3, 1987, after 48 years of marriage.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers: Linda McColgan, William Boram, and Thomas Boram.
Mrs. Burkhammer is survived by two children: Charles O. “Charlie” Burkhammer and wife Naomi of Lost Creek, and Bonita S. “Bonnie” Coleman of Bridgeport; six grandchildren: Julie Fulks (Paul) of Bridgeport, Sean Coleman of Germantown, MD, Ann Burkhammer of Bridgeport, Michelle Weekley (Christopher) of Parkersburg, Mary Wootton (Simon) of Weirton, and Amy Knebel (Robert) of Wilmington, NC; six great-grandchildren: Rachel Fulks, Savannah Preston, Caroline Fulks, Charlie Preston, Lilly Wootton, and Sarah Knebel; two sisters: Lola Warren of Milton, WV and Myrna Demilt of Colorado; one brother, Charles Stalnaker of Montanna; and a sister-in-law, Joann Boram of Greensburg, Pa. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarksburg, where she served as a former Deacon and in the Circle 4 Women’s Group. She was also a member of the Weston Chapter #40 Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, and a member of the Bridge Club for over 60 years and was the last member left of the original group. Dorothy greatly enjoyed flower gardening as well.

Family and friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home 329 E. Main Street Clarksburg, WV, on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 4 until 8pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10am at the First Presbyterian Church of Clarksburg with Rev. John Koerner presiding.
