She was a loving wife, cherished mother, adoring grandmother and homemaker. She was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family & friends. She was always busy working and helping others. She worked at Eagle Convex Glass in Broadway. She welcomed retirement as it allowed her more time to spend traveling between children and being an even greater grandmother (Mam Ma). She was a very active member of the local church. She was able to travel some with the local seniors before her health took a turn.
For over 13 years, she encountered many health conditions and never complained but always fought and pushed hard to recover. She was very tough and had a “never give up” attitude with strength that surprised her many doctors. Her faith in God was felt by all who knew her.
She is survived in death by her four children: John (Terry) Cain of Ponte Vedra,FL; Mike Cain of Mechanicsville, MD; Diana (Jim) Ashworth of Houston,TX; and Rosemary (Keith) Klempin of Ponte Vedra,FL; eight grandchildren: Haze (Mike) McCabe, Tamera (Andrew) Macfarlane, Janelle (Mike) Coy, Nick Ashworth, Jamie (Rebekah) Klempin, Chelsea Ashworth, Ryan Klempin and Shawn Klempin; six great-grandchildren: Maclin McCabe, Landon Coy, Jack McCabe, Keilani Coy, Manning McCabe and Bodhi Macfarlane. She is the sister of—Mary Rice, Catherine Schofield and John DeFazio.
In addition to her parents and late husband she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter-in-law Jan Cain; three sisters: Matilda “Till” Guerriero, Glory Redmond, Rose “Boots” Ferguson; and three brothers: William “Bill” DeFazio, Anthony “Tony” DeFazio, Benjamin “Benny” DeFazio.
