Mrs. Virginia L. Alossie (Allessio), age 831/2 of Clarksburg, WV departed this life to enter into the eternal embrace of thy merciful love on Thurs., July 6, 2006.
She was born in Fairmont, WV on Dec. 10, 1922, a daughter of the late Frank Lucente and Rose (Christian) Lucente Daristotle and her step father, Joe Daristotle.
Twice married and survived by her first husband, Frank J. Pitek of Battle Creek, MI and preceded in death by her second husband, Frank J. Allessio on June 28, 1996.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Tim “Jeanne Pitek” Poniewasz, Clarksburg, WV,
one grandson, Tim Poniewasz II, Miami, FL, one sister, Mrs. Joe “Peggy” Croce, Akron, OH, one brother, Mr. Joe Daristotle, Fairmont, WV, a sister in law and a brother in law, Mr. & Mrs. Louis (Anne) Pishner and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Daristotle Tiano, five brothers, Sam Lucente, John Lucente, Louis Daristotle, Nick Daristotle and Albert Daristotle.
Mrs. Alossie was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarksburg.
She also was a member of the Harrison County Senior Citizens. During World War II, she worked as a welder and for Strohs Brewery in Detroit, MI and later for Weber’s Flower Shop in Fairmont.
Mrs. Alossie was a caring mother and grandmother and was her daughter’s life long friend. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg from 2-8 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, July 10, 2006 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Cesidio J. Federico as celebrant. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
