Leave Condolence for Bailey, James Despard View Condolence for Bailey, James Despard Print This Page Bailey, James Despard Date of Birth:.Sept. 17, 1933 Date of Death:.Feb. 25, 2006 James Despard Bailey, age 72 of Brushy Fork, Bridgeport, WV departed this life Sat., Feb. 25, 2006 in the West Penn Burn Center, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born in Clarksburg, WV on Sept. 17, 1933, a son of the late Phillips Despard Bailey and Margaret Elizabeth (Chestnut) Bailey. His wife, Wynona “Toni” Davis Bailey, died also on Sat., Feb. 25, 2006. Surviving are a son, Dr. James Despard “J.D.” Bailey, Jr., Bridgeport, WV, two daughters, Carey McGregor Bailey, Philadelphia, PA and Marion “Betsy” Bailey Shearer, Bridgeport, WV and four grandchildren, Taylor Bailey, Phillip Bailey, Grace Shearer and Cameron Shearer. He was preceded in death by a special aunt, Rosanell Chestnut. Mr. Bailey was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church, Clarksburg where he faithfully served as Elder, Deacon, Trustee and Usher. He was a member of the Clarksburg Masonic Lodge, #155, A.F. & A.M. and the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, Post #482. Mr. Bailey was a former president of the West Virginia Wildlife Federation and currently was Director of Region 2. He was an active out doors man and was the current president of the Mountaineer Sportsman Club. Mr. Bailey served his country in the U.S. Navy. Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg from 12 noon-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wed., Mar. 1, 2006 with the Rev. Dr. Eric Milton Faust presiding. Interment will be in the Elkview Masonic Cemetery. (Top)
