Abruzzino, Anna S.

Anna S. Abruzzino, age 89 of 407 Southern Ave., Stonewood, WV departed this life Monday morning, July 4, 2005 in the United Hospital Center from a sudden illness. She was born in Stonewood on August 10, 1915, a daughter of the late Salvatore Bellotte and Angela Marie (Merandi) Bellotte-Ventura and a step father, Guiseppe (Joseph) Ventura.
Her husband, John J. Abruzzino, preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1996.
Surviving are three daughters and sons in law, Mary Jo and Vince Lopez, Clarksburg, WV,
Angela Abruzzino, Bethel Park, PA and Kathy and Rod Riggleman, Clarksburg, WV; two sons and daughters in law, John M. & Phyllis Abruzzino, Niles, OH and James J. & Karen Abruzzino, Quiet Dell, WV, ten grandchildren, Sam Lopez, Angie May, Amy Parsley, Annette Hitt, Rodney Riggleman, Vito Abruzzino, Gina Abruzzino, Annamarie Abruzzino, Joseph Abruzzino and James Andrew Abruzzino; seven great grandchildren, Salvatore and Sergio Lopez, Maria Ann May, Sierra Parsley, Aubrie and Grace Riggleman and Aaron Abruzzino Farnsworth; three sisters, Mary Shields, Katie Cassell and Antoinette Brunetti and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Ventura and two sisters, Lucille Caputo and Rose Belcastro.
Mrs. Abruzzino was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Stonewood.
She was lovingly known as “Nunnie” and she lived for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Abruzzino enjoyed gardening all of her life and has a small garden to this day. We love her and will always remember her with a hoe in her hands or pulling weeds.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main Street,
Clarksburg from 7-9 Tues. and 3-5 & 7-9 p.m., Wed..A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 10 a.m., Thursday, July7, 2005 with the Rev. Father Leo Lydon and the Rev. Father John Ledford as co-celebrants. A biblical prayer service will be held at 3 p.m., Wed. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
