Frederic Sidney Albertson age 81 of Clarksburg, WV died Sunday, October 10, 2004 at his residence. He was born in Mt. Jewett, PA on November 15, 1922, a son of the late Sidney and Catherine (Fisher) Albertson. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Eloise (Post) Albertson, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Chuck and Debbie Albertson, Fairmont, WV and David Albertson, Clarksburg, WV, a daughter and a son in law, Cathy and Chief Tricase, Clarksburg, WV, seven grandchildren and a great grandson, Chris Albertson and his wife, Julie, Fairmont, WV, Jeff Albertson and his wife, Cassy, Lincolnton, NC, Ryan Albertson, Fairmont, WV, Christa Tricase Shafer and her husband, Kevin, Bridgeport, WV, Elizabeth Ticase and her son, Tre Sawyer, Anna Tricase and Sam Tricase all of Clarksburg, WV, one brother, William H. Albertson, Bridgeport, WV, three sisters; Mary White and her husband, Hugh, Charleston, WV, Catherine Sekula and her husband, Joe, Summersville, SC and Margaret Jurick, Norfolk, VA, several nieces and nephews, three brothers in law and two sisters in law. He was preceded in death by one sister, Zouella Bess, six brothers in law and a sister in law. Fred was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Clarksburg where he previously served as an usher and on the Parish Council. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1940. He was a Master Sergeant in the United States Army, 29th Infantry Division during World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Albertson was employed by the C & P Telephone Company where he retired after 42 years of service on September 30, 1982. He also was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers. Other memberships were Elks Club, V.F.W., American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Albertson was Past Grand Knight of the Clarksburg Council, #872 of the Knights of Columbus. He was an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Our Lady of Peace Assembly, 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus and past president of the Catholic Center Association of the Knights of Columbus where he was very active. Mr. Albertson made many friends over the years in his association with calling Bingo games at various places including Notre Dame High School Band, Knights of Columbus and Elks Club. Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main Street, Clarksburg, WV from 7-9 p.m., Monday and1-9 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Charles McCallister as celebrant. A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Davis-Weaver service. |
