Dunn, Charles Edward

Charles Edward Dunn, Sr. age 84 of Clarksburg, WV, went
to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at his home,
surrounded by all of his family at6:37 p.m.

Charles was born on May 16, 1926 in Ford, Kentucky, a son
of the late Gilbert Dunn and Jesse Dunn.

Charles retired in 1981 from Clarksburg Veterans
Administration Medical Center as a cook foreman in the
Dietetics Services with 32 years of service. He was recognized
for his outstanding contributions and personal efforts to the VA,
and received the Director’s Commendation in 1963 and 1965.
Mr. Dunn was also awarded a sustained Superior Performance
award in 1964 and 1966.

Charles was a World War II Veteran, serving time in Germany,
France and Belgium.

Charles was a avid trout fisherman, and enjoyed hunting and
enjoyed spending time with his family but most of all, Charles
loved the Lord. Charles was a charter member of Oak Mound
Evangelical Church, and was an ordained minister and spoke
at area churches.

Charles is surviving by his wife, Madelyn Mae (Miller) Dunn;
three sons, Charles Dunn Jr., Jack Dunn and his wife Helen,
Edward Dunn and his wife Joyce; a daughter, Donna Weekley
and her husband Randy; eleven grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, whom he loved
very much.

Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, James Watson
Dunn & Ernest Cole Dunn; a sister, Thelma Mae Dunn.

Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home,
329 East Main St., Clarksburg from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday
and from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Oak Mound Evangelical Church,
401 Oak mound Road, Clakrsburg, where a funeral service will
be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, with the Dr. Bob Phillips
presiding. Interment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial
Gardens, where military rites will be accorded by the Harrison
County Honor Guard and WV Honor Guard from Camp Dawson.
