Joe “Hardrock” Spadafore, age 94 of Stonewood, WV departed this life peacefully in his sleep at his niece’s home, Victoria DeMarco, in Windmore, PA on Sunday, July 11, 2010. He was born in Mabie, WV on Sept. 2, 1915, a son of the late John Spadafore and Victoria (Marra) Spadafore. His wife, Alice (Goodwin) Spadafore, preceded him in death on Dec. 25, 1970. Surviving are nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony and Frank Spadafore and seven sisters, Gloria Spadafore, Anna DeMarco, Mary Berardinelli, Katherine Oliverio, Tresa Spadafore, Virginia Bourgeois and Rose Buhaj. Joe was a member of the Clarksburg Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for 26 years. He retired from Fourco Glass Co. with 40 years service. Joe served his country during World War II in the Army. He also was an organizer of the Stonewood Fire Dept. where he served for many years. Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Sat., July 17, 2010 with the Rev. David L. Hulme presiding. Interment will be in the Stonewall Park Cemetery. |
