Martin, age 87 departed this life on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born in Webster County, WV on Jan. 23, 1923, a daughter of the late Turner Ashby Stalnaker and Virginia Myrtle (Harold) Stalnaker. Her husband, Clifford Paul Martin, preceded her death in 1985. Surviving are one son, William Kendall Martin, Clarksburg, WV, two daughters, Constance Louise Sharpe and her husband Timothy K., Clarksburg, WV and Shelley May Ballard, Bridgeport, WV, six grandchildren, Chad Ashby Ballard, Casey Nicole Bookholt, Timothy Ryan Sharpe, Samantha Anne Sharpe, Tyler Paul Martin and William Wade Martin, one great grandchild, Trenton Ashby Ballard and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. Mrs. Martin was a Baptist. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and took pride in making a good and loving home. She loved to bake and was a great cook , she also enjoyed crocheting. Friends will be received a the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg from 2-8 p.m. Sunday where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 12, 2010 with the Pastor Joseph D. Riggs presiding. Interment will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. (Top)
