Martha A. McVaney, age 79 of Clarksburg, WV departed this life
on Friday, June 11, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Wallace, WV
on May 20, 1931, a daughter of the late Martin Loy Fluharty and Izella M. (Campbell) Fluharty.
Her husband, Blair S. McVaney, preceded her in death on Apr. 7, 1998.
Surviving are one brother, Henry L. Fluharty, Salem, WV, two sisters, Evelyn L. Stutler, Lakeland, FL and Effie E. Schehl, Lexington, OH and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eunice L. Stull and Anga Deloris Harris
and four brothers, Charles J. Fluharty, Martin L. Fluharty, Robert E. Fluharty and Thomas J. Fluharty.
Mrs. McVaney was a member of the Broad Oaks United Methodist Church
where she was a member of the Mary Reed Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women Society.
She also was a member of the Altrusa Club of Clarksburg.
Mrs. McVaney was a bookkeeper for fifty years before retiring from MEC Construction, Inc. In 1996.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday where a funeral service will be held at
11 a.m., Monday, June 14, 2010 with the Rev. Samuel Cale III presiding.
Interment will be in the West Virginia National Cemetery, Taylor County. |
