Catherine Veltri Alonso, age 87 of Northview, Clarksburg, WV departed
this life on Monday, Jan. 18, 2010 at The Heritage, Bridgeport, WV.
She was born in Clarksburg, WV on June 1, 1922, a daughter
of the late Salvatore Veltri and Angeline (Lacava) Veltri.
Her husband, Raymond Alonso, preceded her in death on May 8, 2003.
Surviving are three sons, Adrian R. Alonso and his companion Dorothy (Dotty) Feathers, Clarksburg, Thomas M. Alonso and his wife Cherie, Shinnston and Ronnie Alonso, three grandchildren, David Alonso, Pamela Kitchens and Maranie Alonso Warren; four great grandchildren, Justina Reed, Veronica Hope Warren, Peter Davis and Shara Dulaney and
three great great grandchildren, Christopher Dulaney, Mackenzie Dulaney
and Billie Jo Dulaney.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Patsy and Constance Daisy Geso and four brothers, Thomas, John, Sam and Salvatore “Zut” Veltri.
Mrs. Alonso was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Northview where
she was a member of the Altera Rosary Society.
She was a waitress at Julio’s Restaurant for 17 years.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
at St. James Catholic Church at 11 a.m., Wed., Jan. 20, 2010 with the Rev.
Father Benedict Kapa as celebrant. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.Tuesday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens
Cemetery.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. James Catholic Church. |
