Ayers, 76, of Naples, FL, died peacefully at home October 29, 2008. He was born in Rachel, WV November 16, 1931 to John and Opal Ayers, now deceased. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly fifty years, Judith; two daughters, Jayme Ayers Klein, Naples, FL and Jana Ayers, West Palm Beach, FL and one sister, Betty E. Starkey, Clarksburg, WV. Don developed his life-long love of sports while playing football at Mannington High School, where he graduated in 1949 and then played at West Virginia University. He received a B.A. in business after a four year interruption to honorably serve his country in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean Conflict. The family sends a special thanks to his dear friend, Dr. Antonino Zampogna and his whole family for all their love and care over the past 25 years. A Memorial Service celebrating Don’s life will be held for family & friends at the family’s residence at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Don requested that memorials be made to Avow Hospice, Naples, FL. (Top)
