Mrs. Alma V. “Ginny” Allen, age 76, of 202 Longview Avenue, Clarksburg, WV.,
died at 3:15 P.M. Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at her residence following an extended
illness. She was born in Clarksburg, WV., November 21, 1926 a daughter of the
late Hobart and Ethel Allen Cornwell.
Surviving are, her husband, Henry C. Allen, whom she married January 2, 1948,
two daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. Jo Ellen and Randy Hissam, Bridgeport, WV.,
and Mrs. Rebecca and Craig Ausmus, Pt. Pleasant, WV., one sister, Mrs. Wilma
Ashcraft, Clarksburg, WV., three grandchildren, Lorri Ledsome, Clarksburg, WV.,
Matthew Herod, Bridgeport, WV., and Chad Herod, Ft. Bragg, NC., and five great
grandchildren.
Mrs. Allen was a life-long member of the Broad Oaks United Methodist Church,
where she had also served as an employee for several years. She was a member of
the Area of Christian Concerns Administrative Council and the Women’s Auxiliary,
the Broad Oaks Friends of Ronald McDonald House Charity. A member of Today’s
Homemakers and was a volunteer for the Clarksburg Mission Pike Street Store.
She was a hard working homemaker.
Friends may call at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main Street,
Clarksburg from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. on Thursday, where a funeral service will be held on Friday May 2, 2003 at 10:00 A.M., with the Rev. Dr. Kathryn A. Ambler
presiding. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in West Milford, WV. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Ronald McDonald House, 841 Country Club Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505 or to People’s Hospice, P.O. Box 1680, Clarksburg, WV 26302-9960.
