Steven "Chumley" Murphy
Steven L. “Chumley” Murphy, 67, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was born in Clarksburg on January 17, 1951, a son of the late Red and Anna Murphy. Steven is survived by his wife of 22 years, Kimberly R. (Michael) Murphy.
In addition to his wife Steven is survived by two daughtes: Shanna Miles and fiancé Christopher Marple of Volga, WV and Stefani Boles and companion Danielle Kontak of Clarksburg; and four grandchildren: Michala Miles, Michael Murphy, Morgan Marple, and Jarmar Harris.
Mr. Murphy obtained his MS Degree through WVU in Addictions Counseling, and was employed as an addictions counselor for the Division of Rehabilitation Services for many years. He had a love for collecting tattoos and piercings and was very proud of them. Chumley, as he was known to many, loved going to the movies with his wife Kim every opportunity they could and listening to music. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events and various recitals. Steven was Catholic by faith.
Steven’s wishes for cremation will be honored and a Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at his daughter’s home (8353 Clarksburg Rd. Volga, WV 26238) beginning at 12 Noon. The family requests casual attire for the event.
