Ruby Tinney, 95, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Salem on May 19, 1922, a daughter of the late Delbert Brown and Mary K. (Cutright) Brown McIntyre. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Tinney in May of 1979.
Ms. Tinney is survived by nieces and nephews: David Brown of Clarksburg; Kathy Dalessio and husband John of Weirton; JoLynn Fahey and husband Matt of McDonald, PA; and Richard “Elmo” Brown of Carslisle, PA. Also surviving are 16 great and grand nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends.
In addition to her parents and husband Ruby was preceded in death by two sisters: Helen Varner and Wilma Lee Reese; one brother, Elmer G. Brown; one nephew, John R. “Bob” Brown; and one niece, Patti Reese.
Ruby worked at AGC Glass for several years and then upon her retirement from there was a caretaker and companion to several elderly people in the area. She was a member of the Clarksburg Baptist Church, a devout Christian, and also a cancer survivor. When she was able Ruby enjoyed cooking and was known for her potato salad and vegetable soup.
