Ronald Gene Miller, 87, of Clarksburg, WV, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was born in Allegheny, PA on April 17, 1930, a son of the late Shirley W. and Lena (Hashman) Miller. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Rosemary Kay Miller on August 21, 1997.
Surviving are three sons: Phil Miller and wife Marilyn of Pruntytown, Craig Miller of Weston, and Eric Miller and wife Dana of Central PA; one sister, Pauline Newlon of Fresno, CA; six grandchildren: Travis Miller (Ashley) of Lewisburg, Anthony Miller (Corey) of St. Clairsville, OH, Sarah Miller D’Agostin of Grafton, Andrew Miller (Beth) of Raleigh, NC, Deiadra Shanley of Central PA, and Nathan Miller of Washington, D.C.; as well as nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Gene served his country in the United States Navy, then went on to work for PPG Glass for 27 years, and later retired from the WV Department of Highways after 14 years of service. He attended the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church and the Sardis Baptist Church. Gene was active with the Boy Scouts and served as a Scout Master for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, antique cars and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home 329 E. Main Street Clarksburg, WV, on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 4 until 7pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:30am with Pastor Dave Riddle presiding. Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery.
