Obituary for George Clutter
Mr. George Alden Clutter, 79, of Clarksburg, WV (Sardis) passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the United Hospital in Bridgeport. He was born on November 22, 1938 in Wilsonburg, West Virginia a son of the late Ernie and Wilma (Hawkinberry) Clutter.
George is survived by his wife of 57 years, Geneva Lynne (Maxwell) Clutter; one son Vernon “Bud” and wife Diane of Hepzibah; four brothers: Charles K. “Kenny” Clutter and wife Guillermina of Sardis, Thomas W. Clutter and wife Marie of Reynoldsville, Robert L. Clutter and wife Vickie of Sardis, and William F. Clutter of Sardis; two grandchildren: Christopher Clutter of Morgantown and Hannah Clutter of Keyser; and very special friends Sarah and Terry Layfield and their children T., Bryan and Missy. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and his favorite cat “Buddy.”
In addition to his parents George was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Vincent, and one brother John Ernie Clutter.
George attended Victory High School and was a Harrison County School Bus Driver for 27 years.
He was an avid fan of Bluegrass music, and Ice Hockey with Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins being his favorite teams.
The family would like to thank Dr. Maurice Rhodes for his exceptional care and compassion, and also the 6th floor, Critical Care Unit and People's Hospice Nurses for their many kindnesses.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in George's name to the People's Hospice.
